Everything ran smoothly and we had a really enjoyable and hassle free trip. Atmosphere at camp nou was amazing and even though Barca lost the match the fans were lively and friendly. There was a flag on every seat and one of the best moments of the night was singing El Cant del Barca and waving the flag along with 100,000 supporters.
Tip: Get to the stadium early to find your way around and soak up the atmosphere. Stadium is easy to reach by metro from city centre. Aerobus from airport is only 10.30 euros for a return ticket to city centre and was quick and easy to use. Make sure you know which terminal you are flying from on your return journeyas they are served by different buses. Ryanair flies out of T2B.
Everything went very smoothly. Only slight disappointment was that with an 10 year old and an eleven old the seats weren't all together although 2 were and the other two were fairly close but separate in a different block. I thought when I booked all seats were guaranteed to be together..
If you book the full stadium tour make sure you have time as it is closed on match day . We had booked the tour but couldn't do it the days before or after the match due to flight times.
Milan derby, great atmosphere. 3rd package, so I know it works smoothly.
A fantastic football experience in a fantastic city. We chose the Best Western Dante Hotel which is an excellent base and ideal for access to the tourist attractions and the Camp Nou. The staff could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay. 80,000+ in the stadium and a decent game made for an awesome atmosphere. We extended our stay to four nights and very glad we did, there is plenty to see and do. Everything that Football Breaks advised and arranged prior to our trip happened without a hitch, we would definitely recommend using them based on our experience on this trip
Tip: Make sure that you set out in good time for the game, the city's transport and cab service comes under a lot of pressure when Barcelona are playing at home. Be prepared for long waits for transport/cabs after the game. We ended up walking, took about an hour which was no hassle at all. Prices are pretty much the same as London as Sterling is relatively weak Try Pura Brasa restaurant for king size paella, steaks, ribs etc If you want to get in to some places like the Sagrada Famillia book well in advance, there is little chance of getting tickets on the day. The Green Bus tour is worth going on, also stop off on the way and visit Tibidabo for the views of the city, cathedral etc. Although we didn't experience any problems there are constant warnings about pickpockets so keep your wits about you!
The whole trip from start to finish was excellent. Flights on time and lovely hotel (Zenit Barcelona) in the perfect position to walk to and from the match. Our seats at the match were unbelievable and very happy that all four of us were sat together. The game itself was superb and the atmosphere was fab. The locals were very friendly and we never saw any hint of trouble with fans. We extended our stay to four days as Barcelona is a wonderful city with lots to do and see and great places to eat. The whole trip was planned well and went so smoothly…thank you.
Top tips….get to the match at least 2hrs before kick off to enjoy the atmosphere with the fans. Do the stadium tour before so you can work out where you are sitting and which gate you need to access the your seats. Taxi's around the city are very cheap and great to use.
