Seen the advert on Facebook a few times and often joked/commented on how we need to do this. Turns out we actually did it. Pretty much a last minute decision but absolutely easy to plan, sort and do. No hassles whatsoever. We went to AC Milan v Torino Cup game. Stadium about half full but still generated a lot of noise. Great selection of food and drinks outside with plenty of bars and roving drink vendors inside. Nice to sit and watch a game with a beer . Only downside was that we'd have liked to purchase a programme but didn't see any on sale (and not sure if they even were!).
Due to late nature of the game finishing, the metro's had stopped running. Don't try and walk it as we did as your phone will probably die in the middle of nowhere. Stand and wait for a taxi.
Milan is a vibrant city with lots to see!
Don’t just use the Metro. You will see lots more walking!
The best value for money!! Got really good flights that allowed me to spend 2 days exploring Milan, a decent little hotel for one night and then the seats for the match were great. Amazing view, fantastic atmosphere (got to sit behind the hardcore fans) Such an amazing trip all round, cheers guys!
Do a mixture of walking and using the metro (€2 for the whole day)!
Could not recommend football break highly enough, our trip was plain sailing from start to finish, everything arrived i time and more importantly in plenty of time. Flight times were excellent and gave us another full day away, hotel onix fira is in a great spot to wander round the city and only about an hours stroll to the stadium taking in a cafe for a beer or two. Although the stadium is old it’s an incredible site and great to have been inside. I’d recommend the hospitality very modern with great tapas and a selection of drinks. We went smart casual as per tickets but plenty of people in Barcelona tops and normal trainers and didn’t seem to be an issue. The only down side to our hotel was a lack of a kettle but there are plenty of cafes right on your door step, Hector at the hotel reception was incredibly helpful and full of useful knowledge re where to eat/drink etc. I looked into doing the trip separately but I’d say it’s not worth the small saving you might make as flight times etc were nowhere near as good.
Get the comfy trainers on it’s a great city to wander round. Don’t buy stuff on las ramblas you’ll get the same stuff a couple of streets away for a third of the price
All very smooth and professionally organised. Made it stress free.
Get there early for the stadium tour as 30 min queues regardless of when you turn up or if you have booked a time slot. You just join the back of the queue.
